Tasting Notes: Inspired by the traditional Czech style, Polotmavý Ležák, which means half-dark, Rubiconda is a full-bodied, garnet-coloured amber lager hopped with Czech Saaz. Our take is double decocted to enhance the malt character and create a fluffy, lasting head of foam that pays homage to the traditional methods of crafting this style. Naturally carbonated and fermented ice cold with a traditional Czech yeast, this beer is designed to be malt forward and rich with a malty sweetness balanced by a bounty of hops. Expect flavours and aromas of maple cookie, dried fruit, holiday spice and toasted nuts with a caramel sweetness that lingers on the tongue with every sip. This beer will surely have you singing, “My Rubiconda don’t want none unless you got mugs hon!” Na zdraví!

Tasting Notes:Como Chanchos, or “Thick as Thieves”, is a special collaboration with our friends @chanchotortilleria. Chancho was the first restaurant that Luppolo sold draught beer to 7 years ago, and we have been como chanchos ever since!

Chancho’s dedication to the quality of their ingredients and their food is exceptional, and we are incredibly excited to highlight that shared commitment in this beer. Como Chanchos is our take on a Mexican-style Dark Lager that incorporates raw and nixtamalized corn native to the Oaxacan region of Mexico which Chancho sources for their tortillas from small, independent farmers who have cultivated maize for millennia.

Made using a cereal mash, gently hopped, and lagered forever, this beer is the perfect mix of a summer crusher and a warming winter lager. We used a blend of different malts to give the beer color and a hint of dark malt character while keeping it very light and easy drinking. We get aromas of fresh corn tortilla, horchata, abuelita’s fried buñuelos and rooibos tea with a medium body and a low but balanced bitterness.

GREENER PASTURES FRESH HOPPED WEST COAST PILSNER

Colour: Pale Straw

ABV: 5.9%

Suggested Glassware: Pilsner

Tasting Notes: Brewed in celebration of the once-a-year BC hop harvest with hundreds of pounds of fresh Cascade Hops from Barnside Brewing in Delta, BC. It pours a straw yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of melon, lemon, honey and chlorophyll lead to flavours of kiwi, cantaloupe and tropical fruit. The massive amounts of fresh hops added at the end of the boil give this beer a full body and smooth mouthfeel. Fermented with our house lager yeast for a clean, crisp and refreshing finish allowing the hops to shine.

Tasting Notes: Made with 100% local malt from Field Five Farm and featuring Polish Lubelski hops which impart a distinct noble hop character boasting of rooibos tea, spice, orange marmalade and a touch of dankness. This beer is naturally carbonated and has a firm but balanced bitterness from a touch of caramel malt with a rich mouthfeel from the single decoction.

Suggested Glassware: Pilsner

Tasting Notes: Assertive flavours of biscuit, honeysuckle and toasted nuts with tantalising notes of zest, mint and honey. Unlike our house pilsners, this beer features a higher ABV and a much firmer bitterness while still finishing incredibly dry and crisp.
