A PALE AS OLD AS TIME CZECH LAGER

Tasting Notes: In collaboration with our friends at Farmhouse Fest, we brewed this beer to mark their yearly celebration of carefully crafted beers and ciders. This historical-style lager encapsulates everything we love and respect about brewing. Intentionally made the hard way to pay respect to the beers and brewers that have paved the path before us by using traditional methods. A triple decoction, with under-modified floor-malted pilsner malt from our friends at Hogarth Malt in Alberta provides a deep and complex grain character which is balanced by the earthy and grassy notes from the heavy additions of whole leaf saaz hops. We then lagered a portion of the beer in neutral oak barrels to add rustic notes and emulate the historical lagers of times before. Kreusened and conditioned in the can for natural carbonation which provides a smooth mouthfeel and helps carry the bitterness to the back of the palate creating high drinkability. We hope you enjoy this beer as much as we enjoy Farmhouse Fest!

LUCE DRY-JAPANESE STYLE RICE LAGER

Tasting Notes: The name takes inspiration from one of our favourite Japanese Lagers, which translates to “Morning Light” and this beer truly is sunshine in a glass! This beer underwent a cereal mash in the kettle with high quality Haiga rice from our friends down the road, Fujiya. The addition of the rice lightens the body and adds a unique grain character, making this beer incredibly crisp and refreshing. Lagered long and cold and naturally carbonated, Luce boasts aromas of petrichor, honey, and a restrained herbal tea hop character.

ZENIT CZECH PALE LAGER

Tasting Notes: Zenit, is both the Italian and the Czech translation of the word zenith. For many beer lovers, pale lagers are the zenith of beer. To emulate the centuries old classic, we brewed this complex lager with Bohemian Pilsner malt which we decoction mashed for added colour and body. Loads of Czech Saaz hops were used in the kettle for a prominent herbal and grassy hop character that seems to escape from the glass. Aromas of lemon balm, green tea and classic noble hop spice lead to flavours of fresh baked bread and honey with a balanced bitterness that travels through the pallet.

MARE OYSTER PILSNER
Collaboration with Land and Sea Brewing (Comox, BC)

Tasting Notes: Mare, or Sea in Italian highlights the terroir of coastal British Columbia. Made in collaboration with our friends at Land and Sea Brewing Company on Vancouver Island. This unique style of Pilsner breaks out of its shell with 100% Vancouver Island Pilsner malt from Field Five Farm and 100% local Sterling hops from our friends at Barnside Brewing. Oyster shells from Fanny Bay were used to modify the water profile giving Mare a nice salinity and a complex minerality. It pours a bright straw-yellow with a pearly white head. Expect aromas of the ocean alongside bright lemon and fresh cut grass. With its medium body and smooth mouthfeel from the natural carbonation, Mare is shore to be your perfect companion for sunny days by the sea.

POCO FUMO SMOKED HELLES
Smoked Helles

ABV: 4.8%
Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass
Tasting Notes: We used a combination of oak and beechwood smoked malt to layer in complex aromas of campfire, charred marshmallow, and mulled spice. Flavours of honey graham cracker enhanced by a single decoction mash with a medium body and natural carbonation.
