LÀSKA 12° CZECH-STYLE PILSNER

Czech-Style Pilsner

Colour: Golden

ABV: 4.8%

Suggested Glassware: Krug

Tasting Notes: Láska, which means love in Czech, is a perfect representation of our love and respect for Czech-style lagers and the next step in our exploration of traditional styles with our modern twist. You can expect a higher alcohol and more body than our 10° Czech-Style Lager, Zenit, while still remaining just as balanced and crushable. Based off of the OG pilsner, we utilized an enhanced decoction mash using Bohemian pilsner malt, leaving the beer with a higher level of sweetness to balance the massive charge of Czech Saaz hops. It pours a golden honey, with a quaffable head of foam from natural carbonation. Bask in aromas and flavours of wintergreen, wildflower honey and graham cracker with subtle orchard fruit and green tea character from the expressive yeast profile. This beer is our love letter to the Czech Republic, the birthplace of pilsners.

MARE OSCURA KELP BALTIC PORTER

Baltic Porter

Colour: Dark

ABV: 7%

Suggested Glassware: Belgian Tulip

Tasting Notes: Mare Oscuro, or Dark Sea in Italian, highlights the terroir of coastal British Columbia. In collaboration with our friend North Pacific Kelp, we utilized four different varieties of kelp locally sourced from Haida Gwaii to create a unique take on a classic Baltic Porter. Made for the winter, this high strength porter was adopted by the Baltic countries from England who began fermenting with lager yeast as it was well suited for the colder climates. The use of kelp in both the mash and whirlpool provides a distinct sea-like saltiness and earthy aromatics with a pleasant minerality. Dive into aromas of dark chocolate covered cherries and sea foam with a robust malt character and bask in the flavours of salted toffee and medium roasted coffee with an expressive umami character. From the Baltic Sea to the beaches of Haida Gwaii, Mare Oscuro is shore to be your fireside companion through the coming dark days of winter.

SZAMPAN PIWO GRODZISKIE

Colour: Pale Straw

ABV: 3.5%

Suggested Glassware: Pilsner

Tasting Notes: Our Grodziskie is an ode to the ‘Polish Champagne’ of old, a recently resurrected style known for its high carbonation, low alcohol and distinct smokiness. True to style, Szampan is single decocted and incorporates oak-smoked wheat from Germany, as well as locally malted red wheat. Heavily hopped with Czech Saaz and fermented with our house lager yeast, this beer presents pale and highly effervescent with a zippy natural carbonation and smooth bitterness.
